Compass points employees in right direction
Published:  01 March, 2010

Buck Consultants has launched a corporate wrap designed to help employees better manage their finances.

Seen by PW, the product, Compass, also acts as a benefits administration tool, covering pay, bonuses, pensions, flexible benefits, share schemes, ISAs and performance management.

The wrap, which Buck is also describing as a reward portal, lets employees see their full financial reward and offers budgeting tools to help them plan their finances.

Girish Menezes, a principal at Buck Consultants, said many of the features of Compass used behavioural finance theory to help employees make more informed decisions.

Such features include forum pages and statistics on decisions taken by other employees, as well as modelling tools that allow employees to make smarter decisions on investment options and pension contribution levels.

Buck has two clients due to go live with the portal later this year and is offering it both as part of its administration offering and to companies that want it to sit on top of their existing internal or third-party systems.

Menezes added Compass would enhance employees’ perception of their pension, by embedding it in a holistic view of their financial planning.
