Channel 4 to investigate pensions crisis
Published:  02 October, 2009

Channel 4’s investigative series Dispatches will broadcast an investigation into the pensions crisis on Monday at 8pm. The programme will focus on public sector pensions, final salary scheme closures and compensation packages such as those offered by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF).

It is expected include contributions from members of the Visteon UK pension fund, as reported in PW last month. Members claim that former Visteon parent company Ford has failed to keep promises it made regarding benefits when the pension scheme transferred from Ford to Visteon.

There have also been accusations that a separate company was set up by Visteon senior management, while the original company was placed into administration, forcing the scheme into the PPF’s assessment period.
