Please take your seats for PIPA 2009
Published:  06 April, 2009

The event

What makes a PIPA awards winner? All of the entrants on the right will have had to give evidence of their successes in 2008, their innovation, their service and their competitive edge. This provides the judges with a consistent method of scoring each entrant. Beyond this, what one judge determines as the x-factor can differ to other judges, which is why when we sit down as a judging panel, we encourage a healthy exchange of views as to who has done the most to win. Our judges are listed below.

Predicting future problems for the DC generation
Published:  06 April, 2009

At last month’s National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) investment conference, the government and the Finanical Services Authority, in two keynote speeches from Paul Myners and Hector Sants respectively, effectively blamed trustees for the banking failures and exhorted them to do more on governance. They are both guesswork, but they are also symptomatic of the burdens on sponsors that need to be addressed if DB provision is to have any chance of a future.
