Who would make themselves liable for final salary pensions? Those who do this as a day job will have taken good advice on it, unlike the unfortunate Colin Shaw of Hirwaun, Wales, who was clearly more focused on the good he could do for his community as chairman of the local YMCA (see front page) than on section 75 of the pensions act.
